Hello everyone! The anticipation of playing FFXIV is killing me. Normaly, I would play at night wth Wow Wie while watching Hulu on the TV situated between our pcs. While doing a few runs in cutter cry or one of the other places, I realized there were issues in learning runs to new comers….especially for primal fights. It caused a restructuring issue and an even bigger issue with people that thought they would pay those runs how they wanted and the job they wanted. So… I have a solution when I startup a linkshell.

I'm planning to livestream the run. Up to 2 or 3 leaders will be allowed to stream their camera with it. This way, everyone waiting to get in on the raid will get to watch what's going on. It will also help those that don't know what to do learn by watching. It will also be good for linkshell meetings and even some fun stuff for the linkshell to keep it as cohesive as possible. I'd call it the Mau Wii show but Wow Wie would say something. :P

I also hope to go pro on guildwork to get more than 10 people on free Mumble. We'll see what the future brings. Keep in touch everyone.

~Ciao~

I was thinking about this also. Been watching some live streams on Twitch and was going to try it out for AAR, just to see how it is. Whatever you guys wanna do, but I'm down with live streaming.

Its a good idea But you will always get people like me who are to lazy to watch & just Leeroy Jekins the run. Make sure you have write ups & pictures on the site & dont just rely on live stream or videos.
On a more serious note: I'll be working on finishing off my crafting to help linkshells/Freecompanys in ARR so i'd watch any you post or stream.

Daeva of War and other LS'es already do this. After runs, there are questions and answers and some watchers offer suggestions if the fight is new. But hopefully, SE will be more flexible with content and will go beyond your typical 8-man-foreverything

I'm planning on working on my crafting too to build up for a house or one for the LS. I also realize that running live streaming vid, there will be people that still have questions. It comes with the game. That's what a team does to help each other learn the experience as opposed to some keeping the information for themself and select others. Now, the bad part is that the video will only be seen from one perspective so to ease things a successful run, for those leaders interested, I will give you access to my file share with software to record runs and such which you will reupload to the file share and I will edit to one video with different perspectives. Only the leaders will get access to the file share.

Aside from that, since beta is coming up quickly, I'm looking for anyone wanting to be a leader. As leader, I don't want 1 person to make the decisions. Main decisions should be made by the leaders and equal share to each leader. Everyone should be aware of who the leaders are so there aren't any shadow leaders behind the scenes making the decisions. Everyone gets the same treatment in all fairness of the linkshell. I have a structure for the members and leaders but will need help evolving it. It will help keep all the weight off 1 leader and keep morale up. So first things first…

We'll start with 4 leaders total: Myself making one. If you're interested, lemme know. We'll start on getting setup.

I never even thought about live streaming till I read this and it sounds like a great idea, especially for those times where your waiting for a run and instead of sitting outside the dng for an hour crafting you can watch and learn.

Also really like the thinking behind the fairness and equality, good stuff :D

Streaming will probably be off the table for beta which will allow for the structuring of the linkshell as first priority. Since gameplay can't be aired, leaders can play with the streaming with webcams (if you have one) so we know how it will works before ARR actually starts. Prep before play. I do greatly agree on discussions after the runs that the "run team" may have missed that a "watcher" caught on to.

When you look at how endgame content was structured in 1.0 you could see how hard it would be to keep things from getting lopsided towards a few players in a shell. ARR will have lots of content for all different sort of groups and skill levels. The game has built in lot rules that help prevent hoarding and thanks to the content finder function, even if you miss an event with the shell one day it doesn't mean that you have to wait for the next event to run the content you want.

It's going to be so much easier in ARR to run a Grand Company.

btw if you guys Skype, we can add one another after the NDA goes down and that way we can discuss beta details without risking breaking the NDA, since it will be just between us. Plus it's free.
